DECEMBER 27 – ST. JOHN, APOSTLE AND EVANGELIST

DECEMBER 27 : ST. JOHN, APOSTLE AND EVANGELIST

He is the patron saint of all the secretaries of the Institute, especially of the general secretariat

The history

Mary of the Passion, in the Coutumier of the Superior, invites every secretary to invoke the protection of St. John, who, resting on the heart of Jesus, gives us the image of relationships with authority. Furthermore, St. John has preserved and expressed in his Gospel the feelings and words of the divine Master.

This is why he becomes the patron saint of secretaries: to faithfully and lovingly preserve and express the words they receive from authority and transmit them with the same fidelity and love to all the sisters.

Celebrating this feast

The work of a secretary, at any level, is a hidden, humble job that does not exalt the person but the message they convey. However, it is an indispensable job for good communication and information. Our prayer becomes a sign and a gesture of love and gratitude for the work of the secretaries and an encouragement for them to continue their commitment with joy.

Today’s prayer

Any form of prayer is good if it comes from a grateful heart. Mass, adoration, or any other form can be offered for the secretaries, expressing our appreciation for their work and for themselves.
