A Sacred Pact: Mother Mary of the Passion and the Inviolable Consecration of 1896

On this day, May 31st, we commemorate a momentous occasion in the history of our Institute. On May 31st, 1896, which was also the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity that year, our community gathered as Mother Mary of the Passion solemnly read the inviolable pact of the Institute with the Most Blessed Virgin.

In deep gratitude for the graces recently bestowed upon the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, Mary Immaculate was chosen as the true Superior General of the Institute. The text of this profound consecration was signed by Mother Mary of the Passion in her own blood, a testament to her unwavering devotion.

Let us remember and honor this sacred day, celebrating the enduring spirit and dedication of our Mother Foundress.
