OCTOBER 18 – ST. LUKE, PATRON OF ARCHIVISTS AND HISTORIANS

St. Luke is considered the first archivist and historian of the Church, mainly for the compilation of the Acts of the Apostles, where he narrates the beginnings of the first Christian community. In his Gospel, he transmits the incarnation of the Son of God through Mary’s “YES.”

Mary of the Passion designated the evangelists, especially St. Luke, as the patron saint of archivists and all those who transmit the history of the Institute. She herself was the first archivist and historian, especially through the “Mémoires inédites.”

She advises archivists and historians, like the evangelists, to love the Word of God and to carry out their work to preserve all events that can be useful to the Institute.

Remembering

The work of archivists and historians is also a hidden job that highlights not the writer but what is written. They are the “memory” of the Institute, enabling us to delve into the roots of our existence as fmm, to bring forth praise and gratitude to the Lord from our hearts.

Praying

Thus, our spontaneous prayer rises for these sisters who, in silence and discreetness, keep alive the heritage of the Institute and contribute to its vitality while giving glory to the Lord for His graces and incessant protection.
